The demand for competent and experience-based advice in the field of quality infrastructure has increased continuously in recent years. PTB International Cooperation has developed numerous formats that address very different target groups. We are pleased to make this offer accessible. Our aim is to impart knowledge about quality infrastructure and to improve the corresponding services in such a way that they are competitive, support the economy and promote trade. The publication introduces the ongoing project (2020-2023) with the objective to provide Tunisian businesses with qualified technical staff and Quality Infrastructure services to enhance their products' competitiveness for export to the EU. Consequently, the project will promote cooperation between the different sectors, the ministries, and the other stakeholders to increase exchanges whilst reducing technical barriers to trade with the EU.
The Pan-African Quality Infrastructure (PAQI) conducted a stocktaking exercise to establish a baseline of the status and gaps in accreditation, metrology, and measurements and standardization in Africa. The document reviews and updates the data provided in 2014. The document presents the Quality Infrastructure components and the subsequent adoption and implementation of internationally recognized and accepted metrology, accreditation, and standardization systems. Additionally, it summarizes the Quality Infrastructure in Africa, including a comparative analysis to better observe the change in the development of Quality Infrastructure in Africa.
The brochure highlights the project "Alliance for Product Quality in Africa" by stating its main intention, and how it will help prosper the African partner countries. Via a multi-stakeholder partnership between companies, business associations, and German Development Cooperation, the project aims to improve their the product quality of African companies, enabling them to enhance their competitiveness in the international market. Moreover, the publication describes how both parties (African and European companies) benefit from the Alliance.
The document outlines the project with the objective to strengthen the Quality Infrastructure in the East African Community (EAC) in line with the needs of the selected sectors (pharma, leather, and fruit & vegetables) to improve the compliance with standards. The project seeks to support the development of capabilities and capacities to ensure that Quality Infrastructure services along the selected value chains in these sectors are upgraded and utilized. Overall, the project will support the socio-economic development in the region.
The publication presents the project's aim of strengthening the capacity of the Ghana Standards Authority, the national metrology institute (NMI) in Ghana to deliver metrological services for the increasing demand of industry and facilitate trade. It also aims at enhancing measurement capability to meet the requirements of the scientific community and strengthen consumer protection. The project is focused on the transfer of scientific and technical know-how.
