The document presents "Caburek", a flexible tool to strengthen national capabilities of Technical and Scientific Organizations. The basic concept of this tool is that exchanging regional knowledge and experience makes it easier to solve challenges countries encounter at a national level. The tool proposes and encourages a joint working method that allows each participating institution to make progress towards solving any of their national issues, with the support of a range of resources.

The article describes a short case study on the requirements and problems that arose during the building of an offshore plant by the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Corporation (DSME). The economic benefits of a Mutual Recognition Agreement accepting the certificates of National Metrology Institutes are described.

The document presents the results of remote evaluations during the covid pandemic. The evaluations were executed by PTB Covid-19 Task Force and the Evaluation Unit of PTB´s International Cooperation Department. Based on the experience made, the document gives recommendations regarding evaluation procedure, methods of data collection, technical aspects, and further considerations in the implementation of remote evaluations.

The toolbox is a complement to the Calidena Handbook 2.01 and is based on practical experience of using the methodology in various countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa. Calidena is a methodology developed by PTB to stimulate quality in value chains. All tools are presented according to the different phases of a project. The toolbox was created for people in charge of programs and projects aimed at developing value chains or Quality Infrastructure, as well as facilitators of Calidena processes.
