The demand for competent and experience-based advice in the field of quality infrastructure has increased continuously in recent years. PTB International Cooperation has developed numerous formats that address very different target groups. We are pleased to make this offer accessible. Our aim is to impart knowledge about quality infrastructure and to improve the corresponding services in such a way that they are competitive, support the economy and promote trade. The project provides strategic and policy advice to the African Union Commission (AUC) to improve quality infrastructure (QI) in Africa and to support the negotiations of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The aim of the project is to support economic integration in Africa by reducing technical barriers to trade and unjustified sanitation and phytosanitary measures.
The project aims to build a quality infrastructure for energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in the Caribbean countries. Through the development of standards, testing services and product certification, an energy labelling programme will be supported to promote consumer protection, energy saving and regional economic development.
The project aims to improve equipment for and installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems to reduce deficits and increase the confidence of households and businesses in PV technology. Awareness-raising activities are directed at installers, the general public and policy makers.
The project is part of the German-Brazilian development programme and is being implemented by the German BMZ in cooperation with Brazil's INMETRO. The project aims to strengthen the national quality infrastructure for renewable energy and energy efficiency and focuses on the areas of energy production, transmission and distribution as well as energy consumption and efficiency.
The project supports six pilot activities, including the topics of electronic waste, life cycle analysis, hazardous waste in laboratories, low-cost air quality meters and air quality benchmarks. Relevant normative documents for the sustainable management of secondary metals in Ecuador and product category rules for green coffee in Costa Rica are being developed to promote the green economy in the region.
