The goal of the project is to strengthen environmental analysis and ensure international integration and acceptance by promoting the development of a reliable information base and the formation of a national network.
The countries of North Africa have natural competitive advantages for renewable energies, especially solar energy, which could be used to meet the increasing demand for energy, promote industry and innovation and to diversify the economy. Against this background, PTB was commissioned with a quality infrastructure regional project covering the countries of Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia.
The goal of the project is to strengthen the Moroccan environmental control sector, using the National Environmental Laboratory as a reference, to promote monitoring of compliance with environmental standards and sustainable economic development.
The regional project addresses Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, as well as the Palestinian Territories. The project is directed towards the improvement of the technical capacities of the national QI systems (testing and metrology), in combination with an enhanced sensitization effort of a broad range of stakeholders.
The project aims to align Nepalese quality infrastructure institutions with international best practices and to promote demand for their services. This is done by strengthening the metrological infrastructure, creating an advisory institution, promoting dialogue between the public and private sectors and raising awareness.
