The demand for competent and experience-based advice in the field of quality infrastructure has increased continuously in recent years. PTB International Cooperation has developed numerous formats that address very different target groups. We are pleased to make this offer accessible. Our aim is to impart knowledge about quality infrastructure and to improve the corresponding services in such a way that they are competitive, support the economy and promote trade. The study analyses current approaches and lessons learned in the application of quality and safety criteria in the financing schemes of photovoltaic projects in India and Indonesia. An emphasis is put on criteria which entail the use of services of the Quality Infrastructure, including metrology, testing, standardization, certification, inspection and accreditation.
The study examines which Quality Infrastructure services are required to monitor and support climate change mitigation efforts. It presents potentialities, chances, and examples of Qualiy Infrastructure development for climate change mitigation in Latin America and the Caribbean. The study aims to raise awareness about the importance of Quality Infrastructure in the context of climate change. It provides information for decision-making on the political level and to create awareness amongst Quality Infrastructure actors.
The analyzes the contribution of Quality Infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa for both climate change mitigation (renewable energies, energy efficiency) and adaptation to climate change (water, agriculture, human health, and meteorology). Quality Infrastructure services required are specified for six selected sectors deemed highly relevant for climate change mitigation and adaptation to climate change: Human Health, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Agriculture, Meteorology, and Water.
The paper was prepared within the scope of the project “Strengthening Quality Infrastructure for the Energy Sector†which focuses on supporting the development of quality assurance services for the photovoltaic sector. The document provides an overview of Quality Infrastructure requirements and the current situation of the Quality Infrastructure for the photovoltaic sector in Indonesia. Based on previous analyses, it aims to assist policymakers by presenting recommendations on priorities for developing the national Quality Infrastructure required for the sector.
The guide seeks to provide small and medium-sized exporters with a comprehensive understanding of quality-related issues linked to the quality infrastructure. Amongst others, it includes questions and answers related to quality control, technical requirements (standards, technical regulations, sanitary and phytosanitary measures), management systems, conformity assessment (testing, inspection, certification), metrology, accreditation, the WTO Agreements on Technical Barriers to Trade and the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures. The guide was developed by International Trade Centre (ITC) and PTB.
